The President's Volunteer Service Award
Team Texas Rock Climbing is proud to be a Certifying Organization to verify and certify the President's Volunteer Service Award. As such, we can award our "most outstanding volunteers and recognize the impact they make."

Applications are due September 1, 2025.
Eligibility
- Actively affiliated with Team Texas during the reporting period
- At least 50% of hours submitted must bring positive impact to the climbing community for all categories except for the Young Adults (ages 16-25) in which 25% of hours must bring positive impact to the climbing community.
- United States citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States (i.e., green card holder)
- Must be at least five years old
- Completes eligible service within a 12-month period (for annual Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards) and over a lifetime (for Lifetime Achievement Awards); for our team, the criteria will be 9/1 through 8/31.
Eligible Service:
- Unpaid acts of volunteer service benefitting others
- Service through National service programs that provide a stipend (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) may count towards the Lifetime Achievement Award, but not for the annual Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards)
- Travel stipends, transit/parking passes, membership passes, expense reimbursements, and other nominal volunteer support do not impact service eligibility
Eligible Service does not include:
- Donating funds
- Political lobbying (Non-partisan voter registration is an eligible activity)
- Religious instruction
- Conducting worship service
- Proselytizing
- Volunteer service performed as part of court-ordered community service
- Serving only family members

Application Process
- Download the 2024 application form found here. You can download it anytime during the year to help keep track of your hours.
- Provide the link to your completed document to the "Volunteer Service Award" form under My Forms/Paperwork -> Information Forms once the submission form is available.
Application due date is 9/1 for the previous year. If applying for 2025, the hours will be 9/1/24-8/31/25 with applications due by 9/1/25. For a list of example service events in 2024, click here.
